Loving the BITE: Instant Love for my Instant Pot Pressure Cooker PLUS a Favorite Recipe

One of my all-time favorite recipes just got easier. How? As of late, I’ve been making it in an Instant Pot Electric Slow Cooker rather than Slower Cooker. This is new to me. I’m late to the Instant Pot craze. But what I lack in timing I’m making up in zeal, because truly, this one’s a...

You noticed I said like there…..definitely not love. Most years, there really isn’t much of a real...

Loving the BITE: Fast Veggies for Light at Night Eating

“Quick, get the loads of vegetables we need for dinner.” If I know you at all, and I think I do (wink), this is what you’re saying, or at least thinking while making dinner. Am I right? We’ll just assume I am. In my usual rush to get dinner on the table for six...

Loving the BITE: 5 Things Cyclists Should Eat Daily

It’s not about them vs. us. There’s middle ground, to be sure. I’m not talking about the election (thank goodness!). I’m taking about food. While it’s easy to get sucked into a “one best” diet mentality and declare that your way of eating is superior to another, lemme tell you…I’ve been around this whole...

What’s dinner prep like around your house? Peaceful? Calm? Quiet? Yeah, me too. Just kidding. Let me paint a picture. Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
