#bikeschool member since: Last week? heh...

Like - yummy food, japan, outdoorsy stuff, technology, my family, my fixie
Dislike - Injustice, entitlement, greed
What type of murmuring lunacy can you bring to #bikeschool?:
hahahah, lunacy you say? As a long time Midnight Rida, my introduction to "hardcore" cycling consisted of meandering through LA, listening to sound bikes, gawking at tall/freak bikes, and drinking one too many cans of Tecate. All of this under the moon. So I am well versed in LUNAcy. I'm a little older and wiser now. More of a bike commuter-slash-wannabe long distance fixie guru. Trying to acquire a cargo bike so I can bring the brood with me on rides. 2012 has been my year of the bike. Got rid of my car in January and been running the "how the hell do I get around LA without a car" experiment. All things considered, so far, so good.

Hi Rachael.
Welcome to #bikeschool. I highly recommend that you jump in and answer the questions, share a joke, and have fun. Also, its a great way to gain more like minded followers and make new friends. So many have gone on to meet in person or found a new riding buddy nearby.

Hi Mark, we appreciate your loyalty to #bikeschool and believe that you were the first (or one of the first) from Australia to get on board. As you know, I love the fact that you don't have a license and that you are currently biking every single day of the year....that is so awesome. Our recruiter, @steviedexter will be in touch with you soon with more details.

Rachael @rachaelmirv:twitter
New member-actually not even sure if I'm a member have just been following on twitter thanks to Mike Osborn (egg man)
I would like to become a member.
Likes: anything that involves a bicycle, hearing a guy use the term "I just got chicked", champagne, and anything pink.
Dislikes: cleaning my bike, people who farmers blow at the front of the pack, and people who ride with their seats too low.

I ride for fun, I race for useless schwag, I pull a chariot with a toddler for power training. I've tried every chamois cream, and embrocation out there. The only thing I own more of than bikes are shoes. If a mechanical question comes up, I admit, I will have to use a lifeline and call my hubby the mechanic.

@Lycra_Loony

Member since.....ummmm a long time.

Likes: Riding, watching cycling and some other sports. Beer, usually consumed after riding or while watching sport, and various non-cycling related stuff.
Dislikes: Cars in the bike lane.

I ride for fun and as a means of transportation. When I ride, I rarely care about average speed, distance, power ect. For me, its more about getting out there and spending time on the bike. I dont see my bike as a training tool.
I have lived my whole life car-free. As one of the regular "murmuring lunatics" I have noticed a lot of new faces in class lately. I think a back-to-basics class is needed with questions about first bike, earliest biking memory etc to help us all, old and newer students, get to know a little bit more about each other. I could have Kayla co-host with me and I know she would have a few questions to ask the class.

@koifla
Member since 1960 yes I was held back a year.
I like long rides on the beach or in the country. Going aero and maybe for a run. I dilike flat tires and mean people.
I joke about everything especially myself but I take riding and training well seriously. I have been riding for about 30 years for no other reason than having a good ride. For me a bike is about how fast can "I" go. How fast can "I" avg. How can "I" ride stronger. I am not against all the other ways you can enjoy a bike but for me I want to ride like I am still 20 when I am 60which should be possible since like is a vague term. I ask why and how you train, ride, improve and stay motivated.
