We’re back with another jersey give-away this week….but this time it’s extra special because it’s one of our own.  That’s right this is your chance to win one of our Loving the Bike Jerseys.

It would be kind of strange to review our own clothing, but one thing that I’ll say is those guys over at Groucho Sports sure know how to put together some mighty fine product.  We buddied up with Groucho last May and introduced the Loving the Bike line of Jerseys, Kits, and T-shirts so that everyone out there could become part of the “Loving the Bike Army”.  But the one thing we haven’t yet done is give one of these beautiful jerseys away….So today is the day.

Enter to Win:

It’s really easy to enter this one.  Simply leave a comment below letting us know what other merchandise you’d like to see from Loving the Bike.  Yep, that’s it. The contest closes on Thursday at Noon EST so get in to win right now.  The winning comment will be selected using random.org and we’ll announce who won on Thursday afternoon.

In addition to the jerseys, we also have Shorts, Kits, and T-Shirts.  For more about our Loving the Bike Collection from Groucho Sports, please visit http://gear.grouchosports.com/category/collaborations.

Long sleeve jerseys! Its getting cold around here

  • http://twitter.com/techknowgn Ben

Have you considered arm warmers? theyre universally useful no matter where a person lives, theres always a few rides a year at minimum where arm warmers would come in really handy.

  • Julie Starling

    • http://lovingthebike.com Darryl is Loving the Bike

I don’t want to make you Groucho…..good luck, Marty.

  • http://profiles.google.com/robert.prol Robert Prol

It would seem that lovin my bike means taking good care of it. So cleaning brushes and other stuff like that.

    • http://lovingthebike.com Darryl is Loving the Bike

Ahhhh, good idea.  If you’re going to be Loving the Bike, you need to be taking good care of it right?  I like it.

  • http://www.jeremyridesbikes.com jeremyiridebikes

    Arm and leg warmers FTW.

    Nice jersey by the way.

    • http://lovingthebike.com Darryl is Loving the Bike

Thanks Jeremy.  Great suggestions and I hope we can add them to our line of merchandise.

  • Mr McWhirter

I have a need for a towel for when I’m on the trainer,

  • http://antoinerjwright.com Antoine RJ Wright

Yea, that’s a nice jersey. I’d love to win it.

As for a product for Loving the Bike to sell, I’d like to see something like a (slightly more protected) Fahrer iPad Bicycle Case (http://www.dmarge.com/2011/08/fahrer-ipad-bicycle-case.html). I like carrying my iPad to venues, but having to put it in a bag isn’t so cycle chic ya know. So yea, something like this case, with the Loving the Bike logo on the stem-holder piece, and maybe a bit more impact protection (since we all take a fall from time to time). Ideal commuter product then.

  • Papamev

I would love to see water bottles so I can add to my collection.

    • http://lovingthebike.com Darryl is Loving the Bike

Water bottles are pretty easy to add to our line of merchandise, I think.  I’ll check with Groucho and see if we can add these to the mix.

  • KeiferB

Socks and arm Warner’s would be nice

  • Littlepenguin2004

more casual t-shirts with fun bike images, with some in womens more fitted styles

  • Spip

Shorts of course, don’t fancy a wet butt.

    • http://lovingthebike.com Darryl is Loving the Bike

We do have the shorts as well and you can see them over at http://gear.grouchosports.com/category/groucho-collaborative.

  • http://twitter.com/Wuss912 Wuss912

do you have them in xxl? if not thats what i’d like to see (sizes for normal people)

    • http://lovingthebike.com Darryl is Loving the Bike

Yes they do come in XXL.  You can view them on the Groucho website at http://gear.grouchosports.com/category/groucho-collaborative.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=620806118 Jean-Charles Buckle-Hachey

“Loving the Bike” Panniers or Pannier covers?

  • Steve Dinn

I would love to see anything merino wool, from jerseys, to socks, to shorts, to tights.

I’d really like to see some “Bikes Belong!” and “Share the Damn Road!” jerseys we can wear when cycling on streets here that people think are owned and ruled only by motor vehicles.

  • Bill Cunningham

Socks are good.  Not sure about bike thongs … not my style … but, might enjoy seeing on the road, dependent on who’s wearing them!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/kredmiston Keith R Edmiston

    Socks

  • Susan

How about selling books about becoming a better cyclist?

  • http://twitter.com/Highmountain4 Steve Montalto

My ride wants some “Loving the Bike” Lovin’.  Maybe a saddle bag, some stickers…

  • http://about.me/Aaronthestrong Aaronthestrong

Loving the bike THONGS. Totally would sport a whale tail with some loving the bike action…Seriously though, I think hats would be rad…black, with no text, just the LTB logo in white. Or maybe even the Logo from the right side of this page advertising Groucho.

    • http://lovingthebike.com Darryl is Loving the Bike

Nice one, Aaron.  I know you’ve been wanting a Loving the Bike kit for a while now so good luck to you in this contest.  I’ll let you know when the thongs are ready for order…hahahaha.

  • Eric

I have wanted one of these for a long time.  I sure do hope I win it.  I would also like to see a loving the bike long sleeve shirt.

    • http://lovingthebike.com Darryl is Loving the Bike

I actually have the one and only long sleeve at the moment.  It was a prototype and I love it….hope we can add it to our merchandise list for you.

  • Jim Rusnell

I’d like to see some socks.

  • http://www.jessydiamond.com Jessy Diamond

    What about a water bottle?

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
