I Believe in Pretty Much Everything….but Myself

i-believe

I have an open mind and am totally okay with believing in some things that haven’t been proven or exact.  UFO’s…sure. Ghost’s….why not. The Zeitgeist conspiracy theory…..definitely.

But for some reason when it comes to myself, there is often a lack of belief.  What’s the deal?  I think about this quite often and wonder if it was somehow due to how I was brought up, or if I just lack an internal belief system.

I’d say I’m a fairly confident person, so the cause has got to be something outside of that.  But I’ve never been able to put a finger on it.  All I know is that when I take on just about anything, I don’t naturally see myself having success at it.

I guess this personality trait of mine is one of the biggest reasons I include these “Make it Happen” posts each Monday.  It’s for me to write something positive and to reflect on all the successes I’ve had in life.

As I’ve said many times before, I’m a work in progress.  With each day I strive to believe in myself, what I stand for, and what I do.  Working at making my open mind, open inward just a little more each day.

I think we all feel this way as both Darryl and Eric have pointed out. I know I do, and I am new here, so its nice to see others openly sharing this aspect of themselves. To many I am a very confident and accomplished individual. To myself, I know I have accomplished and done good, but by my own standards and to some degree definition I have not, and that is where in part the inner struggle comes from. I have sort of tried to understand this, without rationalizing it. I’ve really concluded to a lesser degree, that while some of us struggle with this, its because we are open to a greater definition of ourselves. We are not content with the traditional thought process or path that most take and accept. After all, even our relationship to the bicycle is beyond the norm, and that truly is a case of its all good.

As long as you have an open mind and be willing to try, that in itself is a great accomplishment. I love the Monday Post It system. I have to try it:)

I struggle with this myself. Actually I think we all do, to a degree. Sometimes those that appear the most sefl-confident are the people that internally have the most doubt, and what you “see” on the outside is their attempts to cover it up.
When my confidence is low I try to think about those that are closest to me and draw strengh from the fact that they believe in my for some reason, and that I owe them my best, and that I want them to keep believing in me.

‘… what I stand for, and what I do.’
Just the act of defining this category makes us steps ahead of the crowd. I dont know too many people who put a lot of effort into it, they just seem to go with the flow of society. We can be better than that, we need to be better than that.

I really appreciate that, Daniel. You are totally correct in saying that we need to be better than that. I know I had a wake up call this week and am on a mission to be better.

Thanks for sharing your personal emotions Darryl. This surprises me as I don’t see you being this way, but then again I don’t know you personally. Believe in yourself Darryl, you are doing amazing things for people all over the world.

I’m generally not afraid of putting it all out there…..I guess this is something I feel inside, but don’t really portray in my day to day. Thanks, Julia.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
