Make it Happen Monday: Tripped

I’ve been through three levels of official education…traveled through a large part of the world…spent time single, engaged, and Married….lived in three diverse Countries located thousands of miles from one another…..all the while coming across decisions and occasions that have formed a life.

Along this journey, or Ride (as I like to say), I’ve had a world of great times…and I’ve had self doubt, worry, concern, and confusion….Been up and down…..High and low.  I’ve hit bumps in the road and tripped a hundred thousand times before, but there’s something I’ve realized.  You see we’re waiting all our lives, for that moment to arrive….but it’s right now where life is happening.  In the words of John Lennon, “Life Happens While We’re Busy Making Other Plans”.

So you have a decision to make?  I read something once that made a lot of sense when it comes to making decisions.  It said that it’s better to make a decision, go forward, and move in that direction.  If it turns out to be the wrong one, then next time around you will have one less option to decide on.

So you have hit a bump?  My wise friend Austin King once sent me a quote that said something like

“Even if you make a mistake and fall flat on your face, when you stand up you will still be farther ahead then when you took the fall.”

Wise words indeed.

So I’ve tripped a hundred thousand times.  I’m sure there are a hundred thousand more ahead.  But that also means I’m a hundred thousand times further ahead then when I started.  It’s these trips that have created my life.  A life well lived.

I also loved the post. People are often so cautious, they spend their whole lives looking down to avoid tripping as the world passes by in front of them.

I like the way you said that, Eric. Thanks for your comments and your continued support. Good stuff.

I trip everyday and I’m a better person for it. Some days it’s a slight stumble while others are a full face to sidewalk slam. With the help of friends I dust myself off and walk straighter and stronger than before.

Yeah, it sure does help when we surround ourselves with good people like you, right? Thanks, my friend.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
