This is my life's work. I have found total bliss in meeting people, getting to know them and the world we share. Each day I vow to make a total stranger laugh out loud and to do something to make the world a little better place than when I woke up. If it's just picking up some trash and putting it into a can or speaking about inspiration, motivation and action I work at this every day. I am an old fashion romantic at heart, and I believe in all the good in the word and it's people. That is the true power of this challenge....BRAVO!

I see a lot of passion in this post. It is well-articulated and something that rings true in society. It is also very convicting, and for hours, I've been thinking about how best to comment.

More often than not, I am movitvated by the duty and responsibility you discussed. As a working mama of two little ones, I don't get a whole lot of time to do much beyond that duty and responsibility (confession: I'm pretty happy with all the duty and responsibilty most of the time). But that's why I ride and run. It's the "Me Time" every woman absolutely needs in her day.

Lately however, I feel myself unearthing a woman I didn't know existed. I'm rediscovering myself in a new way, and wow, is it a fascinating adventure. My mindset is in the process of shifting (has already shifted?) and I'm learning exactly what you described: the beauty found in my environment, people and life. And I am drawn to it.

It is making me a better person. And to swing this back to riding a bike, this rediscovery has absolutely motivated me to ride more.

Nice post Darryl,
I never have problems with motivation. I have so many reasons to be motivated:
I want to be healthy so that I can spend a long time with my wife and not be a burden on anyone for as long as possible.
I want to be a good role model for my kids and for the people I interact with.
I am a better person when I feel better about myself. When I take care of myself I am better able to take care of others.
I like how it makes me feel to help other people and I try to make that a part of my life.
The concept of paying it forward is fundamental to me. I believe that the more good that you do the better the chances are that good will be there for you when you need it. And we all need help at times.
Keep the good stuff coming.

Love the post. We do get to busy with our daily routines that we forget about what's really important, and that for me is my family. My husband often says to our daughter and me "we are staying together as a group." We are a small group of only three, but together we are an army.

Thanks Dave. It's pretty easy with our North American lifestyle to get caught up in it all. I was hoping with today's post, that I might get everyone to shift their thinking a little.
