Add lots of cruciferous vegetables (kale, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, spinach, and more)  to your diet.  Do it.

These phytonutrients have been shown to do amazing things for your body including the stimulation of enzymes that help the liver remove carcinogens and other toxins.  They’ve also been shown to deactivate the metabolite that promotes tumor growth.  Need I say more?  Well here it is…..some other benefits of cruciferous vegetables:

  • enhance the immune system
  • help in the prevention of macular degeneration eye disease and cataracts
  • help in the treatment and prevention of high cholesterol and high blood pressure
  • prevent constipation and maintaining healthy bowels
  • help maintain blood glucose levels and promoting weight loss.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
