A Cyclist and the Food Waste Fiasco

I’ve been telling you about an amazing individual named Rob Greenfield for the past couple of years now, and you’ve definitely heard me refer to him as “the Gandhi of our time“.  Well, this cycling friend of mine continues to spread his good word, and he just recently completed a Ted Talk that I...

What City?

What city would you live in if you could pick anywhere in the world, without restrictions?  Tougher than you think, huh? What would the basis for your decision be?  Would you choose somewhere that allows you to ride your bike in a safe and comfortable environment each and every day of the year?  Would...

The Happy News

I don’t watch or follow the news.  Don’t care for it.  Don’t honestly feel like I need to know what the news shows want me to see.  But that’s just me. The idea of news got me thinking about what the top inspirational stories or “happy news” for 2016 have been so far.  A...

You Don’t Know What I’m Going Through

You Don’t Know What I’m Going Through

We walk through our lives crossing paths with random people, taking them in, and often making opinions and judgments on what we see. We laugh, scoff, shake our heads….and worse.  Yeah, I’m guilty of this all too often. But have you ever found yourself on the other end of the story? Most of the...

When Life Gets Complicated

Just before New Year’s Eve, I labeled 2016 the year to Simplify.  Yeah, I seem to like to nickname the upcoming year for some reason. I honestly do think keeping things simple is a sure way to a happy life.  But what do you do when things gets more complicated than you’d like? You...

What Exactly is a New Year?

Okay, so we’re four days into 2016….how are things going so far?  We all seem to look at the start of a new year as chance to start a new life.  We make resolutions.  We set goals.  We wipe the slate clean and start fresh. But what exactly is a new year?  Well, it...

Why is the Baby Rasta so Popular?

You don’t have to spend much time in Grenada before you start seeing the “Baby Rasta” sticker on the back of cars and busses.  If you’re like me, seeing it all over the place makes you wonder what the significance is of this popular image.  Yeah, that’s exactly what I’ve been thinking since arriving...

Crank Down the Intensity

Crank Down the Intensity

I’ve been on a major personal development frenzy for the past couple weeks.  I’ve had some incredible insights, gained some knowledge, and the realization that there are still more areas to work on. One of the biggest successes has been in cranking down the intensity at which I live my life.  All areas.  Yeah,...

Don’t Put off Living

“I’d be happy if I could only make another $5,000 a year”….”If my job wasn’t so hard, I would make more time for cycling”…..”I’ll start spending more time with my kids right after I finish this big project at work”…..”I’ll tell her I love her tomorrow”. Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
