I’m Still Proudly Repping Texas

My Family and I lived a total of 3 years in the beautiful city of Austin, Texas.  That equates to only about 7% of my life….but it was enough for me to consider it home.  Even though we’re Canadians, my entire Family actually considers it home. I miss the city, the bike culture, and...

When we moved to Grenada, I really thought the product reviews done by myself would stop.  It’s quite difficult and expensive to bring things in to the Caribbean so I moved here realizing that receiving fantastic products from great companies had come to an end. But there’s been a few products I’ve reviewed and...

Riding a Trainer in Paradise?

When you live on the tropical Caribbean island of Grenada, why would you ever want to ride inside on a trainer?  Well, if you’re me….you don’t. I’ve written many times before how I just can’t get into riding my bike indoors on a trainer.  I guess that’s a major reason why I’ve done what...

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
