My dad talked to the owner of Helmtops when he was on Twitter, and they said they would send him samples for me and my brother.  We got them in the mail and my dad helped us put them on.  Do you know what Helmtops even are?  They are these rubber things you stick on your helmet to decorate them.  I think they are awesome because they look really cool.

To get them on a helmet, you bend the bottom part and stick them through one of the holes.  They are really easy to put on and take off.  When they are on, you can’t even tell they are there.  Here is a video of how easy they are to put on:

There are lots of different Helmtop designs available.  My favorite is the flower.  Here is a picture of all the different types:

Do your kids like stickers on their helmets?  I think they would like Helmtops.

    Hey Kassi,
Pamela and I got to meet you before your trip to Florida. This is a great post. Thanks for the information. I think I am going to try one for my helmet. One day when we come up to see you guys and ride with your dad I will have one on!

Thanks for letting me know about this product Kassi. I don’t know a lot of kids, but I know some adults that like stickers and I think the racing flags would be cool.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
