I like the Nutcase line of helmets but I recently ran across news that Consumer Reports rated them very low in crash impact

Ooh they do look fun! Thanks for the review! I wonder if the heat difference between nutcase and ‘regular’ vented helmets is greater if you bike at higher speeds? I average only 8 mph so I doubt I’m getting a whole lot of venting action.

I agree….they he didn’t know what he was talking about. Riding a bike in Texas is hot. Period. (well, for me anyway) This helmet doesn’t make it any hotter.

I have a nutcase helmet and I commute in it every day in Houston. That sales person doesn’t know what they are talking about.

I have the Stars and Stripes Nutcase helmet. I wear it commuting and even on some centuries. It is very comfortable but in the summer I go back to a more ventilated model.
