Thanks for your comments and tip. I agree and am okay with varying thicknesses of gels. You must have a whole lot more power than me….I’ve never had the tab separate.

To me the Clif Shots seem a little thicker to me than some of the others (this is neither good/bad to me). I liked the concept behind the torn part staying attached but about 30% of them separated (maybe I’m just a gorilla). I prefer the gels that you can buy in a “jug” and then dispense into a flask. The Hammer Apple-Cinnamon is my favorite.

Never tried Cliff bars or their gels as they aren’t that well known over here so not in the shops.

I’ve had Schwalbe Ultremo’s for a while now (don’t think they are the ZX’s) and they are super dooper! Very fast and very grippy. Can’t comment on the windy issue as I have them on a set of 50mm deep section wheels so when I fall off after being blown into a hedge… I blame the wheels.
