Darryl I really appreciate you asking me to write something for your site, I have been thinking about it and its starting to come together. I will get you something soon.
My shops were also trek dealerships and I met him through that connection.
So many bike shop stories! and island racing/riding stories. Anyway, once again, great blog and thanks for the memories.

You and me both, Eric. I felt the same way when I read this the first time. Thanks for checking it out and I need to get a post from you one day about life on the islands as a bike shop owner. I didn't realize you knew Winston.

Fun Post. WOW did that bring back memories of life in the Caribbean. As a born Virgin Islander (Crucian) and a bike shop owner on St Croix this Blog really got to me. I knew Winston (he is described perfectly) and you did a great job of dropping us into the feel of the place.
The problem of course is that the island that you get during a visit is not the same as the one you live on, (if you understand what I mean). I love the islands and they will always be apart of me, but, they are often so much easier to visit, than to live on permanently. For those that have figured out out to make it work, good for you! That is a wonderful thing. And for those of you that cant, but still want to visit and get the feel, do it, there is nothing quite like it.
