A Tribute to Team #LovingtheBike

I still look back on the month of April 2011 with freaky fond memories.  It was a such a great month of teamwork, fun times, and bikey goodness.  Being involved in the #30daysofbiking challenge is enough of a good thing in and of itself, but banding together with Team #LovingtheBike and doing this thing together was even better.  It was also a lot of fun doing the Team challenge and battling it out with Bicycle Radio….even sweeter to come out on top.

My friend and teammate, Myrna, has put together a slideshow with all the “winning” photos from each day of the 30 day challenge.  You can find all the photos that were posted by our team during the #30daysofbiking over at the Loving the Bike Facebook Fanpage….but please join me in viewing this awesome slideshow to help us all reminisce on one incredible month.

Sounds like your wheel is not true, I hear something rubbing.

Nice one, Mike.  So that’s why I can’t keep up with you….I need to get that wheel of mine fixed.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
