Bike to Nowhere, to See Nothing

I came across this image today on Facebook and immediately shared it one our Loving the Bike page.  I feel that it’s such a beautiful yet simple statement about our love for the bike….and I just had to share it here on the website as well.

There are several different motivational type cycling images/messages that flash across social media each day, but only certain ones really capture my attention.  This one definitely did.

I’m not sure who originally created it, or where it first came from….but I’m paying it forward today and hoping you all get to bike to nowhere to see nothing very soon.

Something I don’t get to do often enough.. I went for a ride the other day like this, and it was very odd yet refreshing to not be watching my HR, the time/speed distance.

That’s exactly the kind of rides I like best. I hope to get on a ride to nowhere this weekend.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
