Disney’s Cycling Adventure Park

We’re spending today at the Magic Kingdom in celebration of my Son Indie’s 5th Birthday.  Yeah, how cool is that?  There can’t be any better place to celebrate your birthday than Disney World when you’re a kid.

Anyway, it got me to thinking about the best possible place to spend your birthday when you’re a cycling fanatic……how about Walt Disney’s Cycling Adventure Park?  Yeah, there isn’t such a thing…but imagine if old Walt would have been a cyclist and created such a place for us to go play? Here is what I think he would have included….but help me out and comment with your ideas of what would be in there as well.

Magic “Tourmalet” Mountain – An exact replica of the famous climb in France….along with cheering fans and everything.

Splash Moab – Incredible mountain biking trails and the opportunity to ride one of the greatest MTBing locations in the world.

Biking Wonderland – Every single bike known to man is waiting there for you to jump on and give it a go.

Cyclists of the Caribbean – Ride some of the best Caribbean routes that there are…..surrounded by palm trees and ocean.

Meet the Pros – Instead of Mickey and the gang, all of the great pro riders from today and yester-year are on hand to meet, talk to, and take photos together.

Okay, time to split….we’re off for our day at Disney.  Please help me out and include some more attractions for Disney’s Cycling Adventure Park with a comment below.

Enjoy Your Ride

Tomorrowland (or replacing the monorail?) Disney can put in the Schweeb pedal-powered monorail! (http://shweeb.com/)

I love the “It’s a Haul World”, too.

and…imagine all the pedal-powered food (I’m thinking ice cream, especially!) you could make!

Happy birthday to the little ones! Keep enjoying Florida!

Whoa….Very cool. Thanks for letting me know about the Schweeb…..that’s perfect. Definitely a must at Disney’s Cycling Adventure.

HAHA, awesome idea. Somehow you have to work in a time trial bike route as well. Or somehow a time travel ride where you can go back in time and ride some of the old bikes from back in the day. Or jump to the future and ride some kind of flying pedaling bike. Happy Birthday to Indie and Kassidy, high five Goofy for me!!

Oh man….good one. I never though about Tomorrowland and all the great ideas that could be included in Walt Cycling World. Thanks.

Great idea! I’d like to reserve my tickets now please! Don’t forget a spot for tasty cycling eats and of course the very important massages.

I totally forgot to talk about the food. Definitely a must in Disney’s Cycling Adventure Park….and the massages would be out of this world.

Don’t forget “It’s A Haul World” … the international tour ride of cargo bicycles, from Xtracycle to Madsen. Lol. Happy Birthday to the Mini-LovingtheBikes, Indie and Kassie – hope you guys have a very fun-filled birthday! 🙂

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
