Spotted-Soigneur-soozed

I lost my little buddy this week. For the last 13 years, he has been my shadow. Wherever I went in the house, he was with right there with me. In the winter months, I would ride the trainer and he would sit close by and watch me, never getting much further away than a couple feet. He was a quirky little guy, never overly affectionate, but loving in his own way.

I snapped this picture a couple years ago, and titled it “Spotted Soigneur” when I posted it online. In the true sense of the word “soigneur” he took care of me.

People may say I rescued him, but the truth is that he rescued me. That little face helped me through some tough times over the years.

Rest in peace Fred. You have left a hole in my heart and an emptiness next to me.

Enjoy Your Ride

It is so hard! And the house feels so empty! My deepest sympathies! I know he had a good life with you!

It’s definitely quiet. I wake up looking for him which is the hardest part. That will fade as time goes on…. Thanks for your kind words Julie.

So very sorry to hear about your loss. I love my doggie, too (as well as my human kids), and it hurts to think about losing her. Hope you’ve got plenty of good times to remember.

I definitely have wonderful memories. Trying to remember those, especially this first week. Thanks Paul.

Big hug to you Suzanne. They are not just pets, they’re family.

Thanks Daniel. They ARE family and other dog (and cat) owners understand that

My deepest sympathies. I lost my little girl 2 years ago now. the last 11 of her 17yrs she was continually by my side as she came to work with me. Still miss her, and she will never be replaced. Fortunately I’ve found another to help fill the void. When you are ready, I know she will look with joy as you ‘rescue’ another.

What a nice story. Being able to bring a dog to work is the best! Glad you opened your home to another : )

Our pets do rescue us at least, if not more, then we rescue them. Thanks for posting, it helps remind all of us pet lovers to cherish every day with them.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
