Cycling Promoted on House Hunters International

It was so nice having the opportunity to promote cycling during the recent episode of House Hunters International. Basically it’s a show about buying or renting a house in an international destination….but I had to make sure I promoted bikes as much as I could for our episode.

Yeah, in case you haven’t seen my tweets and facebook posts….. HHI filmed us in Austin last October, and then a week later in Grenada.  The show finally aired in the US on HGTV earlier this month, and will air again on July 31st.

I didn’t have any control over the final product, but I did all I could to make sure they promoted cycling by getting a few shots of me on my bike.   But I also represented the bike with my t-shirts as well.  They honestly wouldn’t let me wear my Loving the Bike t-shirt, but I was able to highlight some of my other favorites cycling t’s.  Watch for me in my Viva la Bicicleta, Ban-T, and Green Machine shirts.  (There’s a small watermark on the video from the program I used to convert the DVD to mp4)

One thing’s for sure…..I love being on camera.  Hahaha, yeah I’m vain enough to say that it was pretty cool doing the filming and then seeing my Family on the small screen.  Now I just need the network to do a full series on my Family traveling the world and cycling along the way.

Enjoy Your Ride

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
