Win a Nuun Prize Pack

I think the first product review I ever did on this site was for Nuun Hydration.  It wasn’t because they sent me out some samples to try out, but because I digged the product and wanted to tell our readers all about it.  In that original review, I explain what the product is, what it does, and how I recommend using it.

I was recently in touch with the company and instead of having them send me out some samples, I told them I’d rather give our followers a chance to win a Nuun prize pack.  So here it is.

Nuun Prize Pack

I enjoy taking Nuun. It tastes good, mixes well, and keeps me hydrated. This is a great contest, please pick me as your winner.

I am on a path toward true fitness. Being a diabetic, it is truly hard to find sports drinks that are not a waste of my calories. I have spent two years trying to loose the weight that has been bothering me. I am now getting into strength, stamina and distance training. I have been 3.5 miles in the early morning, and it was already 85 degrees when we were done. If I want to go again, it will be 100 or better. My kids can only go so far, and I chose to ride with them this morning. We use some products we have found at the grocery store, but I have never tried NUUN. I had never heard of it before. This seems to be a logical step as I stretch my rides longer and longer here on the Texas Gulf Coast.

I haven’t had much experience using Nuun products. The few times I’ve tried it, I’ve really liked it, so would be happy to use it some more. And, now that we’re well into the 100+ degree days in Texas, it’ll come in really handy.

Congratulations, Paul. You were picked by random.org as the winner of our Nuun giveaway. Please let us know which flavors you’d like and if you prefer a hat or visor…and e-mail that and your address to [email protected].

Love the cola and grape. Easy to carry and not too sweet.

I like every flavor I’ve tried, but I like Nuun for the hydration it gives me. Especially at this time of year when my body looses so much on a ride. It’s good to have Nuun to bring it all back.

Fantastic contest! I’ve been a fan and have been using Nuun since 2010 when I started cycling. My favourite flavours so far is the Kona Kola for the caffeine in one bottle, and the Lime flavour in another bottle. Then I’m good to go on my ride!

I have never tried Nuun products but I would like to get them a try, unfortunately my LBS doesn’t stock any of their products. I sure could have used an advanced hydration method on Sunday!

It looks like I’m one of the few who’s never tried it. I’d like to see what Nuun is all about.

IT’s been a while since I have used nuun. THanks for reminding me. I’d like to win some in case I forget to go purchase some more for myself.

Love NUUN! Great electrolyte replacement without the sugar! And yes, Karen, Cherry Limeade is awesome! Kona Cola is also a winner! But don’t forget about NUUN All Day – it’s a great way to supplement vitamin intake with a tasty variety of flavors.

Big fan of nuun! The active hydration tabs help pull me thru those long rides. I like the tri-berry, watermelon, grape and fruit punch. Thanks for the contest! @matthewhowley

Nuun is a great product, keeps me going on both the bike and the run. Kona Cola is the best flavor by far, but mixing them up is fun.

Great contest Darryl – I’ve been using Nuun for a couple of years now – started using it in my water bladder while hiking, since long hikes used to cause leg cramping…no cramps with Nuun, and it’s easier to clean out of the bladder than Gatorade. It made obvious sense to use it on the bike, then, and that’s what I’ve been doing as long as I’ve been riding

Love me some Nuun! It is easy to toss in a pocket and use on the long rides. Cherry Limeade is the best 🙂

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
