My Wish For You
Yep, tomorrow is the big one. A special day where the world stops to celebrate peace, love, and a bounty full of Christmas presents.
Our Loving the Bike family has had its share of present overload in the past, but we’ve really toned things down the past couple years. This year we’ve totally minimized things and are only going to have a few things from Santa in our stockings.
I know it’s difficult for kids to look past the whole gift thing and celebrate Christmas simply for all the goodness it has to offer. Heck man, when I was a kid I would get caught up in the holiday spirit….but presents were always my number one highlight. So I totally get the thought process of my kids around this time of year.
Okay, so I’m still pretty much a kid….and there’s nothing I would like more than to find a brand new carbon beauty sitting under the tree tomorrow morning. Yeah, you know what I’m saying…right?
But there is a phrase we like to say around here that helps put things into perspective and remind us all about what matters most at Christmas:
We got that line from an episode of The Wonder Pets a couple years ago. They sing these words in a cute little song and it’s one we’ve re-sung countless times in our home.
So with that in mind, it is with more lyrics that I would like to send you off for the Merriest Christmas ever. This is My Christmas Wish For You:
I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow
And each road leads you where you want to go
And if you’re faced with the choice and you have to choose
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you
And if one door opens to another door closed
I hope you keep on walkin’ til you find the window
If it’s cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile
But more than anything, more than anything
My wish for you
Is that this life becomes all that you want it to
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small
You never need to carry more than you can hold
– My Wish, by Rascal Flatts
Really great Christmas Wish Darryl. Pamela and I wish you and Amanda and the kids a peaceful happy joyous wonderful Christmas. We are sitting in our trailer out here in Nowheresville as the temperature drops below 30 F, thinking the beach sounds pretty good right now but…. actually… we are right where we want to be, life is good.
Your Christmas message to your kids is awesome, I know its hard to stick with that with all that goes on around them, thier friends and neighbors, but it will have such an important impact on how they think about things in the future.
Take care my friend, and have a great 2013.
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you. Thanks for the wonderful wish.
Right on, Darryl. And right back at you. Happy Holidays to you and your family. Yay Wonder Pets!
