Okay, so who needs a new bicycle rack?  Well our friends at Yakima are here to help out by giving you the chance to win either a HighRoller or FrontLoader to get you and you bike everywhere you need to go this summer. If you read my story about how my commuter bike, Tina Turner got her name…..you’ll find out more about my adventures with a bicycle roof top carrier.  So if you’re our lucky winner, be sure to keep that beautiful bicycle of yours safe.

I’ve got these old Thule racks that don’t hold my new full suspension 29er very well…

I need a new rack ’cause our current one keeps tossing bikes off of it onto the road

I need a Yakima roof rack system because my yakima hitch mount is not big enough to handle the family’s biking needs. It holds four bikes but we need enough space for six. Without the new roof rack, two of our kids will not be able to bike with the rest fo the family on a regular basis.

Honestly, I don’t need it, but my husband want one… and I cannot afford to buy one for him.

Like a fool, I sold my Yakima roof rack after buying a Yakima receiver mounted rack for my wife’s car. While this works great for family outings, it leaves me high and dry when my friends and I need to get ro a race! A new roof rack would be the perfect solution to get our bikes to the races while leaving access to my hatchback for gear and race fuel.

I need a new bike rack as I am riding London to Paris in August and John O’Groats to lands End in support of Prostate Cancer in September 2014 and need a secure way of carrying the bike to the start and carrying it home afterwards.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
