I’ve talked about it a few times, but never dedicated a post entirely to our donkey, Moonlight Poet. Yes, our family owns a donkey, and it’s definitely something worthy of a #MakeitHappen Monday post. People ask me all the time, why do you have a donkey? Well, the quick answer is….why not? A little...

Monday Can Be Easy Like Sunday Morning

The Un-Explainable Feeling
Last Monday I called myself a fake, even though I am a person who goes after what he wants….and I generally have a Do it Now attitude. Yes, I go after many of the things I want. But at the same time, I seem to always be chasing my number one goal in life....

I’m a Fake
Well, not totally a fake…..but a fake none-the-less. I come out here every Monday with a “Make it Happen” post intended to motivate and inspire all of you. But in reality, it’s often me who needs an attitude adjustment more than anyone. I guess you could call it ironic. On one hand I feel...

Always Move in the Direction of Opportunity
One of my cycling industry buddies recently told me about a huge change their family was contemplating, and what my thoughts were on it. To me it sounded like one incredible adventure, but would require them to move and make a pretty big change to their accustomed lifestyle. The best advice I could give...

Kid Rock, Kraft Dinner, and Budweiser
I’ve been riding quite the hypocritical journey the past few weeks, and definitely not practicing what I preach. Yeah, me…. Mr. Positivity. To sum it up, I’ve just been plain down…….and not really doing much to climb back up. I’ve recognized my mood and not really tried to cover it up…..I’ve just gone with...

Of course it is….the brain is the most powerful thing we have so it’s really the starting point of making it happen. Making anything happen. Everything in life is created first in the mind, and then again in reality…..and...

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration
Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea). I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.
My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.
Answer:
Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out. Have you tried either of these? Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
