Goodfluence Bicycle Tour Across America
You all remember my Do Good bicycle friend, Rob Greenfield, right? Rob’s the awesomely crazy one who cycled across the US last summer to promote sustainability. It was one incredible journey and he captured a lot of attention along the way.
Here’s a brief summary of how minimal he was during his 4,700 mile tour:
- created just 2 pounds of trash (yeah, 2lbs through the entire trip)
- used 160 gallons of water (the average family uses this in one day)
- plugged into just 5 outlets
- never turned on a light switch
- Ate all local organic food or food that would have gone to waste (including a lot of dumpster diving)
Well, he’s back at it again this summer, and pedals off tomorrow….but this time he’s riding to promote goodness. He’s calling it the Goodfluence Tour Across America, and here’s why.
Rob is going to be spreading good, city by city, all over America, every day, all summer long. What kind of good, you ask? Well, he’ll be performing random acts of kindness, inspiring people to do good things, and creating ripples of positive action that will spread across the nation. Believe me…if anyone can do it, Rob is the guy.
On any given day this summer you may find him on his bamboo bicycle, planting wildflowers, helping people in need, starting gardens, smiling, being nice, and inspiring people of all ages to live happier and healthier. We are very proud to support him on the magnificent journey.
Get involved! Join him on your bike, plant seeds with him, organize a do good event, or invite him to your community! Check below to see when he’ll be rolling into your city.
Oh, and there’s more. Goodfluence is more than a bicycle tour. It’s also an app. It will be released soon, and we’ll provide you with more details once it launches.
We’ll be checking in with Rob each week this Summer. Each Tuesday we’ll post an update of his goodfluence adventures, including the Bike2Power sustainability report.
Rob is Powered by Bike2Power
We’re happy to say that our Loving the Bike sponsor, Bike2Power, is supporting Rob’s ride, But there is a slight hang up. Rob asked for the wrong items from them and they weren’t able to work on his bike. They had supplied him with a Dynamo Hub, Bike Charge Power Pack, and iPhone handlebar mount. He planned on using these items to self charge while cycling…..we’ll see what kind of back up plan we can come up with.
