Loving the Bike TV: Get Out of Your Own Way

The intention of Loving the Bike TV is to help inspire you to Love Life on and off the Bike.  In episode 2, I talk about some wisdom that has personally changed my life for the better….and I hope you find success with it as well.

My parents are visiting right now and with this topic on my mind, I see where my thought pattern has come.  My mom constantly creates barriers for herself and is totally resistant to things being done differently from what she believes in. But just because of having this influence through my life, it’s not stopping me from breaking away from it.

As we move forward with the Loving Life on and off the Bike series, I vow to provide the best inspiration I can and also promise to continue to improve the message and the videos along the way.

I am loving this stuff Darryl. Getting out of your own way is really a huge thing and something I think all of us struggle with it from time to time. They way you expressed it was great. I think that is your skill by the way, is to make things approachable and easy and understand and grasp. You are doing great things man. Keep it up.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
