3 Ways to Deal With Someone Stealing Your Strava KOM
Are you on Strava? If so, do you have some KOM’s that you’re so proudly holding onto? Yeah, I’m sure you’ve got some nice one’s in your name….but what happens when you get that dreaded e-mail saying:
Yeah, it sucks doesn’t it?
I don’t really consider myself ultra-competitive, but whenever I’ve had a KOM taken away I get fired up.
Here’s 3 things to do if your Strava KOM gets taken away.
- Send a friendly message congratulating the one who stole your KOM away from you.
- Immediately jump on your bike and go after regaining your KOM.
- Get mad, give up, and never jump on your bike ever again.
Most of the time I chose option number 2. But just over the weekend I had one of my coveted hill climb KOM’s taken away…..and for the first time I’m wondering if I’m able to get it back.
This one is a serious climb and I feel that I’ve given it my full out effort in the past, and not sure if I can make up the time necessary to get it back. Yeah, I say that….but I already know I’ll be going after it one day soon.
Watch out Mr. Jarvis…..I’m coming for you.
Thanks for the support, Gerald. Get your butt over here and let’s ride.
I’m not on Strava yet. And I know this would really get under my skin.
This all comes down to a training issue. I’m sure you are at your ideal weight and you got all the rest you needed when you claimed your KOM.
But we can all tweak our diet and introduce a new training technique to make us that much faster. It’s probably not a matter of training harder. It is a matter of training smarter.
While I consider myself an expert in helping people get started with cycling, I am sure there is someone in our community who can help you go from an great hill climber, to the next level.
Who is going to step up and help Darryl achieve his goal?
