Cycling On Your Vacation
I want to know more about your vacation travel plans, and if cycling is part of determining where you travel next.
As a guy who loves cycling and travel….as well as someone who just happens to own a Caribbean bicycle tour and rental company, it would help me out a lot if I knew more about how people make their holiday travel plans. This is where you come in. Have a look at the quick video I put together and then let me have your thoughts.

My bike always accompanies us on my family’s vacations because I will ride no matter where we are. As we make our plans, however, a good, nearby MTB trail is a major factor in the choice. Through the years my good wife has often agreed to spending a week in the mountains when she prefers time at the beach. It started on our honeymoon. I wanted to stay at the highest point east of the Mississippi River which was Beech Mountain, NC. Back then I was solely a roadie and LOVED the challenging climbs there.
Thanks Collin. Bring you wife to lay on our beautiful beaches here in Grenada…..and then come riding with me.
When on vacation I always choose a place where I can ride a bike or where I can take my bike. I always feel a sense of hospitality when my bike is welcomed where I ride. Also, if I cannot take my bike, having the ability to rent a bike is key. I ride all of the time and I know I’d always want to ride to see new things. I have entertained working as a tour guide on bicycles, that’s how much I believe in riding to learn, see, and experience new places. I encourage folks to vacation on a bike or with your bike at some point of their vacation.
Yes, you’ll hear those that say that on vacation I want to relax or do different things. To that, the option and encouraging other options is a good one like being able to go rafting, hiking, MTB riding etc…
An active person will do just about most things to be active, and the inclusion of riding a bike for me is what draws me, primarily.
I appreciate your comments, Helene. We’ve actually had a couple different people come in to rent bikes this week saying they prefer to see the island that way. I guess they have a similar perspective to you. I hope to see you here in Grenada one day.
I do hope on doing that sometime. I will definitely look for looking for your shop and coffee.
Cycling is part of our vacations. It is the best way too see and experience a place – being outside in the real world, being able to stop wherever you want, talk to people, etc.
We have borrowed or rented bikes, but eventually came around to bringing our folding bikes with us. We bicycle tour light.
Thanks Eric, I appreciate the feedback. Yeah, taking your folding bikes are a great idea.
Which would only mean to get people like us, you only need to offer tours that offer local secrets, and have the option of renting a bike or bringing your own.
Perfect, looks like we’ve got you covered at Mocha Spoke. All that and a whole lot more. Thanks again, Eric.
