Definition of Success

success

The word success is a funny thing….and what exactly is it anyway?  We’re conditioned by the media and other influences around us that success equates to obtaining lots of money, owning a nice house and car, and having a position of status or power in the work you do.

I don’t know about you, but my definition of success is oh so much different…..and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone.

Think about it.  For some reason the person who drives the nice car and has the cool “stuff” is deemed successful.  But ask yourself what your own personal definition of success is, and I guarantee it has nothing at all to do with money.  One of my favorite quotes on success comes from Bob Dylan of all people.

“A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between he does what he wants to do.”

-Bob Dylan

I hear you, Bob and feel exactly the same way.  I may not be a success in the traditional sense of the word…….but I couldn’t be any happier with the way I’ve led my life.  Beating the rat race, staying true to myself and my core values, and not letting boundaries get in my way.  Oh, and my days are pretty much filled with things I want to do.

Do whatever makes you happy. Be happy Go Lucky. Be a Success. Enjoy.  #MakeitHappen.

Love your perspective. I think success = happiness. Not instant gratification happiness. I mean, in-our-soul happiness. I think in order to be happy you have to cover the basics, have enough to eat, sleep, feel some sense of safety and security, but beyond that,,,, only you determine what makes you happy. Maybe to some people owning a Lamborghini is what makes them truly happy, I wont begrudge them that. But that is not what makes me happy. For me it is to love and be loved, to have peace and to experience beauty, (and at least some of the time, experience that beauty from the seat of a good road bike 🙂 )

For me success is simple…living a life that is fulfilled, I find fulfillment in serving others and I am successful (by my definition) beyond my wildest dreams!

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
