Fist Pump Celebration
I’m all about celebrating small victories, especially those that happen on a bicycle. But something I experienced while on a ride last week helped remind me just how important it really is.
I rode past a guy jogging as I made my way towards the airport where I looped around to come back. As I approached the jogging guy again, I saw him end the run at his vehicle and with it came a raised fist pump in the air. I smiled.
That victory of his was so deserving of a fist pump, and it immediately made me think of all the rides I have personally done it on as well.
Every time I’ve finished a ride that has let me check off a personal goal, or one where I’ve accomplished something I didn’t know if I could do…..I’ve celebrated with a raised fist in the air and a whole lot of personal pride.
It wasn’t the big rides or competitions, it was for the little victories along the way.
It has to be done in my opinion. Acknowledging that victory will help you grow as a cyclist. Celebrating will help push you the next time you take on a cycling challenge. Self pride will make you excel in everything you do….on and off the bike.
It’s a new week, and it’s the perfect opportunity to set some new cycling goals for yourself. Get out there and #MakeitHappen….and once you do, give us a great big fist pump in the air.
