George Carlin State of Mind

It’s been over six years since we lost George Carlin, but his wise words still linger around the world.

“We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life.

We’ve conquered the atom but not our prejudice.

These are the days of two income Families, but more divorce….fancier houses but broken homes.”

These words of George Carlin strongly connect to me.

He speaks as if he has read my thoughts and re-interpreted them.

Such insightful thinking that we’ve all had pass through our minds, yet were unable to capture in writing.

Yeah, George was one wise man…..even his comedic rant on bicyclists doesn’t stop me from loving what the guy had to say about the world.

As our world progresses…..ages, educates, and matures…..we must reflect on its outcomes.  As we progress, we must also reflect on the person we have become.

So easy to get caught up….swept away…..and lost. So easy to forget what matters most.

Daily actions become routine. Importance gets pushed aside to the unknown. Real priorities surface in the face of danger and fear.

Stay in tune with the inner self. Re-learn to feel without touch. Re-learn to say words in silence. Live.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
