Toronto is a simply massive city. Home to over six million people across the Greater Toronto Area, driving in the city can be a massive pain. This leads many to take public transit or grab their bike and hit the road in a more environmentally friendly fashion. But, in a city so large it could be hard to know exactly where the best bike trails are. To find out I asked JustFly. An online travel agency, JustFly reviews cities all the time as a means to help travelers. They gave me their three favorite bike paths in the city of Toronto.

Waterfront Trail

Who doesn’t love a bike ride along the water? Sitting directly on Lake Ontario, the Waterfront Trail allows you ride from Etobicoke in the West to The Beaches in the East all the while getting great looks at one of Ontario’s Great Lakes. Things and places you will see along the way include Woodbine Beach, Exhibition Place, and St. Lawrence Market. Also, enjoy biking in the shadow of the CN Tower and maybe stop in and see a Blue Jays game if the roof is open at The Rogers Centre.

Lower Don Trail

A more challenging ride, this trail more or less runs along the generally congested Don Valley Parkway. This trail, which is designed largely for mountain bikes, is for advanced riders who also know where they are going. While most trails are pretty straightforward, these trails can be winding, are often unpaved, and feature banking turns. As a mishmashed network the trail is generally as difficult as you make it as there are also paved trails part of this network as well.

Richmond Street

Running parallel with Queen West, the Richmond Street Bike Path gives riders great access to one of Toronto’s most trendiest areas. Likewise, JustFly says this trail also works as a means to get to Trinity Bellwoods Park. Trinity Bellwoods is probably one of Toronto’s most popular parks due to its prime location and generally chill vibes. The park also gives you a chance to hop off the bike and grab a quick rest.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
