Long Bike Back

Over a year ago, I posted about the journey of two guys cycling across the United States to promote the Share the Road message.  Like all cyclists I know, I’m all for it and will do what I can to help get the word out there.

Well, Pearson and Pete have completed their journey but still wish to continue spreading the message.  Their documentary called, the Long Bike Back is now available for online rental or purchase.

I watched the film a few weeks ago, but am just now finally getting some words out about the documentary.  I honestly enjoyed the film, and by the time it was over I felt like I was friends with Pearson and Pete.  I think that’s the best part about the film….its honest, it’s raw, and the true emotion of what these guys when through totally comes through.

Although I’m a different kind of cyclist from these guys, I founds myself connecting several times with the way they felt or the things they would say.  Pete stole the words right out of my mouth several times.

Way down below, you’ll find a promotional video about the Long Bike Back.  I encourage you to have a watch and see what you think.  If it looks good to you, we’ve got a special discount code for our readers.

The rental price is $3.99, but use 3ZTPZD to get 25% off until August 24th.  The DVD is on sale for $20 until August 31.

Pearson and Pete even put together a special little video just for our Loving the Bike followers:

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
