Loving the Bike TV: Intro

I’ve been talking about it for a while now, but finally figured out what to do with Loving the Bike TV.  The series is going to be all about Loving Life on and off the Bike, and in this first intro episode I give a very brief explanation of what it’s all about.

The idea behind this series is to inspire and motivate you to chase after every single dream you have….and to show you that anyone can do it.  I’m not the sharpest tool in the bike shed, not made of money, and certainly not the hardest working person on the planet…..but here I am the proud owner of the Caribbean’s first bicycle cafe and living on the island of Grenada.  Yep, anyone can do it.

Watch for more episodes coming soon….and better editing and graphics as well.  Plus, if you ever have any questions or topics you’d like covered just let me know.

Hi Darryl, I work for Disqus (your comment provider) which is how I found the site. Just wanted to say I dig your site and look forward to the video series 🙂

Hey Jim, it’s great to hear from you. Disqus rocks. Thanks for checking out the video and glad to hear you’ll be tuning into the series. I plan on running it each Wednesday.

You realize of course that showing that view isn’t going to get you added to many Christmas lists. 🙂 I’m not an island or tropics person and that view does look spectacular.

Hahaha, thanks Bob. However, I don’t seem to recall getting any gifts from you in the past anyway. Thanks for checking it out.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
