Life is a Poem…Let it Flow out of You

Whatever it is that gets me to the dawning of the day.
It’s totally unique, because I’m different in my own special way.
You may not understand it, and choose to disagree.
But you are not going to change me, this is who I’m going to be.

I may not be exactly who I dream to be someday.
But the best I can do is hope that it all works out some way.
I’d like to change my looks, my attitude, personality.
Always trapped between who I am and who I want to be.

Just like you I have my demons that often come into play.
They surface and they disappear depending on the day.
I keep mine exposed, and let them create a lot of debris.
They won’t stay out forever, just momentarily.

Sure I can try to cope and pretend that everything’s okay.
But there’s something that’s inside me that keeps those thoughts at bay.
Why can’t I just be like you and see things the way you see.
Maybe that way I wouldn’t have these thoughts I have inside of me.

So don’t try to convince me or get me to see things your way.
It may be okay for you, but I see it as dismay.
It comes down to distinctiveness and individuality.
There is no way you could ever see or feel what’s inside me.

I don’t know how we got here or even why we’re here today.
It may sound cynical, but I don’t see the role we’re supposed to play.
But while I’m here I’ll keep on being who I’m meant to be.
That person’s name is Darryl.  That person just might be me.

Where is that place you find that all your worries go away.
In your head, your heart, a location.  Where every day is Christmas Day.
Some may live for mountains, the prairies, or the sea.
Others for adventure, power, maybe curiosity.

Whether you motivate yourself with dreams, or sit at night and pray.
There is a way to keep yourself from feeling total disarray.
The magic word is purpose, and it’s this I guarantee.
Find it and you’ll live a life that’s complete and heavenly.

This is a solid poem, Darryl. You let us dive into your soul a bit….I’m impressed. I also agree with the message…very much so. Thank you for the reminder. Sometimes we need to be free to be who we are, huh?

You definitely don’t suck….not too many people have the guts to throw down a rhyme.  Besides, I thought yours was super cute.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
