“If you don’t like something, change it” so very true and so many people don’t get it.

Darryl, It’s so hard to pick a favorite part, because i love every single word. It’s the way I live. The video just gives me happy goose bumps! Thanks for sharing and I had to share too! 😉

Thank you for this, Darryl! I’d go with “Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them.” But really, the whole thing is simply perfect. If only we would listen to all is says 🙂

You’re welcome, Daniela.  I’ve been scratching my head on this one for years….but continue to wonder why things like this don’t come naturally to all of us.  The reminders sure are nice and hopefully it all sinks in a little more each time.

  4. Kim on December 12, 2011 at 1:20 pm

I love the part that says: “If you don’t like something, change it.”

  5. David on December 12, 2011 at 1:19 pm

I have seen this one before but the reminder is always welcome.  Do what you love and do it often is one of my own personal mantras so I would select it as my favorite from the list.  But the whole manifesto is beautiful.

I love absolutely everything about this!!  And such perfect timing!!

Hmm…I know I can’t win the gift card, but my favorite words of wisdom (if I HAD to pick just one), would be “Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them.  So go out and start creating.”

That one sort of reminds me of the movie we watched last night, huh?  Find more opportunities to create goodness with the people who fill your day.

      • Anonymous on December 12, 2011 at 8:28 pm

Yep!  Maybe that’s what made it stand out for me! 🙂

Getting lost will help you find yourself.

“Live your dream and share your passion”.   This was easy for me to select as my favorite bit of wisdom from today’s post.  It’s the answer to that age-old question… What’s the key to happiness?

  9. PedalmanTO on December 12, 2011 at 10:08 am

‘Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them.’ – I love this!

  10. Caratunkgirl on December 12, 2011 at 8:52 am

THAT is awesome – one of the great things about Loving the Bike is the constant inspiration and motivation you share with us.  I love Getting lost will help you find yourself

Thanks I needed this! My fav is stop watching tv if you don’t have enough time. How many times have I heard someone say this?!

  12. Eric Hutchins on December 12, 2011 at 8:29 am

If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV.  Its the underlying message that I love. We all complain how busy our lives are and that we dont have time to do the things we want to. But only a few of us really look at the choices we make and realize that we are our own worst enemy.
I want to echo Aaronthestrong’s comment also in that this is exactly WHY I love this site. It is a place that makes you reflect, makes you smile makes you want feel grateful for what you have.
Keep it up Darryl. Great stuff.

    • Darryl is Loving the Bike on December 12, 2011 at 8:24 pm

Once again, I am so thankful for having you as a reader, friend, and part of the Loving the Bike army.  I really appreciate the  kind words as always, Eric.

If only I could figure out how to proofread 🙂

Getting lost will help you find yourself. I once traveled to Italy alone and stayed there for a month. I’ve never felt so lost and so refreshed at the same time. Love Holstee too!

  14. Mark Sinclair on December 12, 2011 at 8:17 am

DO WHAT YOU LOVE, AND DO IT OFTEN. This would be my favorite.

  15. Jeremy on December 12, 2011 at 8:16 am

That video is perfect.  I am a believer in not wasting time watching television so I’ll have to go with the one about not watching tv if you want to have more time.  Thanks.

  16. Aaronthestrong on December 12, 2011 at 7:36 am

This is why I love this website. I need constant reminders of all these things 🙂 I don’t know that I can pick just one, but I guess since I have to I would choose “Stop over analyzing, life is simple.”

    • Darryl is Loving the Bike on December 12, 2011 at 8:25 pm

Thanks for your sweet complement and we’re so happy to have you as a contributor over here as well.  I think we all need constant reminders, Aaron…but as long as a little more sticks each time, then I think that’s a good thing.  Life is Simple.

  17. Jane K on December 12, 2011 at 7:15 am

The manifesto is brilliant and the video is even better.  If you don’t like something, change it is my choice.

  18. Rwjy9010 on December 12, 2011 at 7:14 am

How about two?  “Life if Short” and “life is Simple” are wonderful.  The whole thing is wonderful.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
