Make it Happen Monday: Two Choices

“Hello everybody.  Welcome today to the wonderful world of…you.  Now check it, you have two options…You can eat it or throw it away.”  – Usher

As you find yourself starting to read this page, you will find that you opted for one of two options…..read it or click it off.  I’m glad you chose to take the time, but this is just one of the billion choices you’ll make today.  Some will be as simple as deciding to read an e-mail….while others will be life altering decisions. For all of you in the United States kicking off a fine Memorial Day, I hope this helps with all of the many decisions you’ll make today.  For everyone else, have a great day filled with positive choices.

Without getting personal on you, I’ve spent the past week and a half making more decisions than I’ve ever made in my life.  Not just the “What do I have for lunch today?” type of decisions….but serious extreme life altering ones.  To be honest with you, I have yet to finalize my choice……but I have learned one lesson during this process.  Happiness Is A Decision…….And You’re The One In Charge.

Sounds pretty simple huh?  What I can offer to all of you today is this….Take about 30 minutes out of your day and visualize the following scenario.  Sit in a quiet place, close your eyes, and try to think of the most important things in your life.  Don’t just think of the major ones, but also the little things like having coffee with a good friend, calling your Mom for some much needed advice, using your phone to make a call that needs to be made right now.  Now imagine not being able to do these things any longer.  When you are done, you may just realize what exactly is the most important things in your life….and what it actually is that makes you happy.

One of the greatest speeches I have ever heard is from Actor Mathew McConaughey who talked about the pendulum of life swaying between a laugh and a tear.  I’d like to take this a step further and say that the pendulum of a moment sways between a Choice and a Change.  Happiness is a choice.  As you make each of your billion decisions today…..make sure you always choose happiness first.

Enjoy Your Ride

Thanks for this one D!  You are so right….happiness is a choice, and we need to remind eachother of that every day.  I know it can be tough to find 30 minutes to visualize, but I think it’s important to relax and keep your thoughts focused, and figure out what really makes you happy.

I know what makes me happy the most, and I owe that to you and our Family.

Great post – it reiterates the fact that we are NOT forced to be unhappy; we do have a choice

Thanks for you comment.  You are totally correct, and I wish us all well in having this thought be what comes to us first.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
