If you’re bummed out because you missed getting your order in for one of our Loving the Bike kits last year, now’s the time to get in for our next round.

Because last year’s kit was so amazingly beautiful we’ve decided to keep it pretty much the same….but we’ve added arm warmers and socks.

We’ve teamed up with the great folks over at Ascend Sportswear this year and are super impressed with their quality and service.  If any of you are looking to order your own custom kits or cycling clothing, be sure to contact them at www.ascendsportswear.com/custom.

Oh, and if you bought the jersey last year, now is the perfect time to add bibs and the other accessories to your Loving the Bike outfit.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
