Slow Ride
Slow Ride
Time spent wandering,
thinking.
Silent.
Long, slow, distance.
Color, crunch.
Dark, desolate.
Always exploring.
Fall ride,
feed my soul.
Take me away
from the hurry.

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea). I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.
My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.
Answer:
Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out. Have you tried either of these? Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.

Have to admit (being old) that when I saw the title on my browser I thought, FOGHAT.
Seriously though, as always love the pic and the spare, awesome, text of Suzanne’s post.
Have just spent the last
couple months traveling from AK through OR, ID and now in UT. I seem to have
experienced several different stages of fall, kind of all mixed up. But there is
no mistaking now that the next season is on its way. Fall always feels like the
end of something, more than just summer. It is a time for reflection on whether
the plans you had last spring actually played out like you hoped they would
then. Usually not, but sometimes its all for the better. And you
are right, for myself anyway, it is definitely time for a slower pace and a bit
of reprioritizing. So far so good.
This is truly what riding a bike is all about…
Good one Darryl. I totally agree. I too had several very enjoyable rides this fall while it was still warm. As I transitioned from morning to afternoon to early evening rides when the light is at that golden hour. When the crops are being harvested, the light, shadows, fall colors and smells combine to cause me to slow and take it all in and contemplate the changing of the seasons in the environment and in me. Too nice, too important and too beautiful to ride through quickly, but to reflect and enjoy. Good one Darryl. Thanks for prompting me to remember.
Thanks for the kind words, but this was written by Suzanne. She posts each Friday with an amazingly beautiful ride report and photo.
It’s great to hear about you loving your nice fall rides.
Darryl
Yep, I totally missed the byline. I just got caught up in the words (Suzanne’s words) and my thoughts of my slow fall rides. I realized my error as soon as I hit the post button. I edited the text my my efforts were too late as you can never go back. My most sincere apologies Suzanne.
No worries at all! It’s nice that people can relate to this. It’s my favorite time to ride.
