X2PERFORMANCE-thumb-270x226-4152Okay, so who doesn’t want increased energy, enhanced endurance, and improved recovery?  Like it or not, we’re living in an age of sports enhancing performance products.  Some contain things that make them illegal in sport…and for good reason, because along with improving your performance they will totally mess up your body.  There’s also a lot of “friendly” products out there as well.  But how do you know what’s good and not so good?

I’ve always had an interest in nutrition and how manufactured (and un-manufactured) products can help with sports performance.  I have to be honest here, with all that’s available these days….I’ve been out of the loop on the latest and greatest products.  I was recently contacted by X2PERFORMANCE to act as one of their paid ambassadors, so I took a closer look at what they’re all about.

I quickly found out that this product has definitely done it’s research and homework.  X2PERFORMANCE works by fueling the body’s natural energy capabilities, but does so without an excess of stimulation or sugar like many of the products out there.  It is also NSF Sport, and Informed Sport Certified.

There are a bunch of cyclists, triathletes, and Ironman competitors who have seen the benefits of this product and are using it to achieve better performance.  Basically, it is a pre-activity supplement that comes in liquid form and you chug it back prior to exercise.

X2Performance

I’ve jumped on board and am happy to promote this product as something I feel can help benefit cyclists and other athletes.  I also have to divulge that I’m getting paid to put this post up about X2PERFORMANCE, but if you know me you’ll know that I wouldn’t promote just any product.

I’d like to offer everyone a free trial of X2PERFORMANCE.  It’s one of those deals where you have to sign up for a subscription of the product in order to get the trial (yeah, I’m not a super big fan of having to do it that way either).  But you can try out the free product and cancel before the first payment has to go through if you don’t like it.  Oh, and they’re going to charge you $5.95 for shipping…..okay, so not totally free.  However, with all that said I still feel that it’s worth checking out.

If you’re looking to rock your cycling performance this season, give X2PERFORMANCE a shot and see what it will do for you.

Great post Darryl! I am looking forward to trying out the X2 Performance! I have never really been into pre-workout stuff before (except for the occasional Gu) since they were just loaded with so much artificial colors and sweeteners. But this stuff seems pretty straightforward and clean 🙂

Great post, Darryl. I’m excited to trial the X2Performance product as well. Looking forward to receiving my samples later this week.

Thank you for being transparent about the shipping charge for the free sample. I am very curious how x2Performance works and you have me intrigued. Who couldn’t use increased energy, etc.?

I think X2Performance sounds pretty interesting. It sounds pretty simple to use and I like that it doesn’t have any sugar in it.

It’s funny you say that… My wife has cut out sugar from her diet for a few weeks now, and she’s seeing some great results. Deeper sleep, more energy, better skin, less headaches, etc. I never really paid attention to the sugar content in foods, but now that she’s so aware of it from her diet, I’m starting to become aware of it’s impact as well.

That’s interested Dan, so she is finding that she sleeps better at night, and more energy during the day. I don’t consume mass quantities of sugar (well I eat a lot of fruit and veggies so natural sugar) but I am interested in cutting back even further. We need to talk more about this. (or maybe Grace and I do)

I am looking more and more for products with no added sugar or sodium. You would be surprised at how many products add these uncessary ingredients when less would be just fine! -Kelsey

    Excellent post, Darryl.
It’s so tempting for athletes take risky performance products that give a short term boost, but at the risk of long term health. It’s about time the industry saw more products aimed at giving the body more of what it naturally needs.

Looking forward to hearing more about your experience with X2PERFORMANCE.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
