I may have people calling me a social media maverick, but I’m definitely not well-rounded like a lot of the social marketing guru’s out there.  The main reason is because I refuse to join the smart phone revolution.  Yeah, that’s right…..I don’t (and don’t intend to) own anything other than a simple pay as you go cell phone.  Mine doesn’t even have a camera on it.

So why would LovingtheBike get on Instagram, seeing as you can only post from a mobile device?  Well, it wasn’t intentional.  I agreed to a paid post that Les Mills/Reebok wanted me to do….but part of the requirement was to post about it on Instagram.  A quick set up on our iTouch and @lovingthebike was Instagrammed.

I’m not sure how often I’ll actually post anything on there, but I’d love it if you would instagram-friend me up.  I don’t want to look like an instagrammed-shmuck with only a couple of followers.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
