What Would You Buy From Jenson USA?

Okay, so we just had a giveaway last week for the first time in a while….and here we are doing it again.  This time around, it’s a small one….but a good one.

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but I’m a big fan of Jenson USA.  In my opinion, they are the best online bike shop out there.  They have a great selection of bikes, gear, and accessories at fantastic prices…..so if you’re cool with straying from your local bike shop to make some purchases, these guys are the way to go.

Just so I’m totally transparent, I want to add that I dig these guys so much that I’ve become an affiliate for Jenson USA.  Yeah, I generally don’t get into the whole affiliate game…..but I’m making an exception with this company.

Getting an affiliate commission definitely helps out a guy like me, and enables us to pay for some of the things necessary to keep this website going.  So if you’re going to purchase something from Jenson, it would really help me out if you do so through my affiliate link.

Anyway, I’ve got a $25 Jenson USA gift code to give away.  Simply leave a comment below and tell us what you’d like to purchase from Jenson.  We’ll randomly pick a winner once the contest closes at Noon on Thursday August 6.

All of the above mentioned are great choices. Lizard tape I could use. Carbon set back seat post would be handy. I really need a 9 speed derailleur that will clear a 36 tooth cassette. I will tell you this…. Jensen was the only on line bike retailer that I could find that would send me parts in Iraq via APO, I’m truly indebted to them!!!

Definitely need a new rear cog set. Extra tubes are handy in case a stranded rider doesn’t have one on them.

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
