My “Driver Education” Program Caught on Video

I’ve said many times that when I’m on my bike, I’m very aggressive and won’t take anything from any vehicle.  I call it a positive rage that only comes when I’m training on my bike. Well, here in Grenada I like to call it “driver education”.  Whenever possible, I’ll chase down a vehicle who...

2014 #CyclingWorldCup

Four years ago, I came up with the idea of having people tweet out #CyclingWorldCup if their day included more cycling time than World Cup watching.  Well, the FIFA World Cup 2014 kicks off today from Brazil and I’d like to do it once again. There’s no debate that Football (Soccer) is the number...

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
