Gypsy Soul Freedom

Gypsy Soul Freedom

I’ve been called a Gypsy before.  A few times.  Maybe that’s what I am.  I know I like the comforts of being in the same place.  But the thought of something new is equally appealing. If it wasn’t for my “Gypsy” heart, I would not be where I am now.  Living my dream life...

Would You Still Ride if You Were a Millionaire?

December 30, 2013

Of course you would still ride your bike…..but in this video I provide a little food for thought. I was hanging out at Port Louis and seeing those mega yachts down there got me to thinking about how life would be if it was me cruising on one of those beasts.  It was then...

Beer, Benjamin Franklin, and Make it Happen

Beer, Benjamin Franklin, and Make it Happen

It’s a very simple quote, but one that conjures up a lot of good images…..especially when you find out that it was Benjamin Franklin who said it. I’m sure you all know who Ben Franklin is, but in case you need a refresher….he was one of North America’s greatest citizens.  He was a scientist,...

Life’s Simple Moments

Life’s Simple Moments

I jumped into bed, and as my body relaxed into the stitching of the sheets…I was King of my World. I got caught up in the Zone while the wind rushed into my face.  I was on my bike, and for that fleeting second….I was perfectly lost. I held my Baby Boy on my...

I Believe in Pretty Much Everything….but Myself

I Believe in Pretty Much Everything….but Myself

I have an open mind and am totally okay with believing in some things that haven’t been proven or exact.  UFO’s…sure. Ghost’s….why not. The Zeitgeist conspiracy theory…..definitely. But for some reason when it comes to myself, there is often a lack of belief.  What’s the deal?  I think about this quite often and wonder if...

The Easy Path

The Easy Path

At first glance, it might look as though I’ve taken the easy way on life.  When I was in high school I created a class schedule with as many free spares as possible to avoid more work, I took the minimum required classes to receive my Bachelor of Commerce degree, and I’ve done my best to avoid “real work”...

How Far Would You Go to Fit In?

How Far Would You Go to Fit In?

One of my favorite quotes of all time is: “The culture we have does not make people feel good about themselves.  And you have to be strong enough to say, if the culture doesn’t work, don’t buy it.  Create your own.”    This is a quote by a man named Morrie Schwartz, a retired...

When the Universe Speaks…

When the Universe Speaks…

…you just have to listen.  A few years ago, I signed up for something called “Notes from the Universe” being offered from www.tut.com.  I don’t remember how  I came across it, but I’ve really loved getting these personal notes each and every week. I realize that it’s a genius form of marketing that allows these...

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
