These Cyclists Got Balls

Myron, from Loving the Bike, tries out a new cycling adventure and shares his experience. Contest Time: How Old Are These Cyclists?

Tomorrow morning I’ll be turning 41 years old.  Yikes, I really don’t like saying that out loud, and to be honest I really don’t believe it.  But that’s how old my Mom says I am so I guess I have to go with it.  I’ve often been told that I look so much younger...

Bodybuilding + Wakeboarding = Cyclist

Prior to my love and passion for cycling, I really only had two other sports growing up that provided a similar feeling.  Although cycling has always been a part of my life, there was about a 12 year chunk where my focus was wakeboard, waterski, and hit the gym.  For the past 8 years...

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
