I know for many of you right now, you’re stuck inside on a trainer or might have hung the bike up all together for a few weeks.  But even if you’re not currently on the bike, let’s have a little discussion on relaxing the ride. What I mean by this is having that sense...

Why is the Baby Rasta so Popular?

You don’t have to spend much time in Grenada before you start seeing the “Baby Rasta” sticker on the back of cars and busses.  If you’re like me, seeing it all over the place makes you wonder what the significance is of this popular image.  Yeah, that’s exactly what I’ve been thinking since arriving...

Lazer Z1 Helmet Review

The past couple times that I’ve reviewed a Lazer helmet, I’ve done it with a video review because I like being able to show how the helmet looks and feels.  But, this time around, I’m laying out the goods in written content so that I can focus more on the features and speak about...

Loving the Bike TV: A Different Perspective

December 9, 2015

There has been a lot going on behind the scenes for me, and taking the time to view life from a different perspective was totally in need. It worked out great because my Son and I went out on a dolphin watching tour, and seeing things from the middle of the ocean can be...

Crank Down the Intensity

I’ve been on a major personal development frenzy for the past couple weeks.  I’ve had some incredible insights, gained some knowledge, and the realization that there are still more areas to work on. One of the biggest successes has been in cranking down the intensity at which I live my life.  All areas.  Yeah,...

Sugar Alternatives for Energy and Hydration

Question: I am using the homebrew sugar formulations (sometimes added to green tea).  I am also trying to wean myself off 1/2 dose adrenalean “lip tonic delivery system” (biorhythm brand- caffeine, hoodia g, synephrine, yohimbe) capsule for energy.

My question is other than juice, can you suggest modifications in lieu of table sugar for energy and hydration.

Answer:

Both raw/organic honey or agave can work great in the homebrew (substitute in the same quantities for the sugar, or to taste), but you do have to shake well in order to make sure they don’t settle out.  Have you tried either of these?  Also, make sure to use at least the minimum amount of salt recommended in the homebrew as the temps rise, you need the sodium replacement if you’re sweating.
